Working as a Volunteer for LCP

Thursday, July 21, 2022

Hello to everyone, My full name is Gülbahar OK and I am from Turkıye. I am 25 years old and at the moment I am a European Solidarity Corp volunteer (ESC) in Love and Care for People organisation. My department is related to the Economy and Finance. I have been working with LCP for almost 3 months. I can speak some English but I need to improve it more. For this reason, my colleagues and our manager are always helping me with some English tasks or just speaking English with me. I think they are really kind to me and I want to say “thank you” to all. I am very happy in Ireland (especially in LCP) because being in a foreign country represents a big challenge for me. I work from Monday until Friday in an office and fortunately, my apartment is near to my workplace. I actually only need to walk around 10 minutes to the office. During my free time, I listen to podcasts, read some books and write something. Additionally, I have a personal teacher here in Mallow. He is Giovanni from Italy-Chile, who is an ESC volunteer like me. Giovanni is very kind to me and he helps me all the time. For this summer we have three projects: Celebrate European Cultural Diversity-3, Inclusive Sports, and Enhancing Media Literacy-2. I hope in the future I will manage one Erasmus+ Project.
